CHILDRENS
HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES, a pioneer in pediatrics, was founded 108
years ago. The hospital is recognized as a world leader, renowned
for its medical, educational, and research programs. Today, CHILDRENS
HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES treats nearly 62,000 patients a year in its
Emergency Department. It admits more than 11,000 children a year
to the hospital, with almost 50% of those admissions children under
four years of age. There are more than 287,000 visits a year to
its 29 outpatient clinics; more than 5,000 visits at community sites
through its Division of Adolescent Medicine. The mission of CHILDRENS
HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES is to advance the health and well being of
children and adolescents by integrating medical care, preventative
services, medical education and research in response to the needs
of the community and in an atmosphere of love, compassion and respect
for people.
The
A-rated PORTUGUESE BEND NATIONAL HORSE SHOW features accomplished horsemanship
and is highly anticipated competition for both riders and spectators. Both rings
are fully scheduled all three days offering a wide variety of special events including
the PCHA Horsemanship Medal Finals. The $10,000 Seahorse Jumper Classic will challenge
some of the West Coast's finest Junior and Amateur riders over a difficult and
exciting course. | |
|
| The
PENINSULA COMMITTEE is unique in that entire families become involved in
the colorful show. They provide planning, preparation, and personnel to staff
the event and they give, in the process, over 15,000 volunteer hours each year.
An atmosphere of hometown fun is created through the decorations, booths, and
boutiques. Puppet shows, pony rides, face painting, moon bounce, and numerous
crafts are just some of the popular activities of the Children's Booth. The many
food booths entice the crowds with items for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. |
