22nd ANNUAL POSTER CONTEST
For the past 20 years, local high school students have submitted original artwork with an equestrian theme to the Horse Show’s Poster Contest. The contest is held to focus on the artistic talent of Peninsula high school students, to aid the art departments of our local high schools and to give publicity to the upcoming Horse Show that raises money to benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The winning entry will be the official Horse Show publicity poster and the cover of the 2011 Horse Show program. The 5 winning entries will be displayed at the Palos Verdes Library in late August and early September and in the Admissions Booth at the Horse Show September 9, 10 and 11, 2011.
In 2011, individual award checks were given to the following winners:
Standing right to left: 1st Place, Meredith Klashman – Peninsula High; 2nd Place, Gina Park – PV High; 3rd Place, Megan Kim – Peninsula High; 4th Place, Luna Choi – PV High; 5th Place, Carolyn Michaels – Peninsula High.
The Poster Contest is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Ron Jones, members of the Peninsula Committee Children’s Hospital since 1983. Aside from individual prize money, a donation will be made to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in Meredith Klassman’s honor and to Peninsula High School’s Art Department.
